Take a look inside "TRESKJERARTUNET" is located in a valley in the western part of Norway, called Myrkdalen. It's a family- business with traditions in woodcarving. Sjur Mørkve, b. 09.18-1917, started carving sculptures already as a young boy. He also learnt much about ornamental carving in "dragon style" from a well known woodcarver in the valley, Styrk Hirth.

In the middle of the fifties he started his own workshop, and since then woodcarving has been his profession. Today his pieces are more popular than ever. During the last years the business has gradually expanded, and has now four self-employed woodcarvers. Each has his/ her own articles, which include big and small sculptures, relieves, traditional drinking-bowls, etc. Occasionally we also take on commissions, when time allows.

We have workshop and sale in the same building. You can see the finished articles, and at the same time you have the rare opportunity to come to the workshop and look at the carvers at work. You are most welcome!
